NoPlaceLeft Academy is the first academy of its kind. It was birthed in Texas prisons, is spreading across prisons nationwide, and is now multiplying around the world as one of the preeminent training academies for missionaries. We are not a classroom theory of missions. We are the proof that the methods we teach actually work — in some of the hardest soil on earth.
The academy was co-founded by Brandon Authement, a well-known and respected missionary trainer who came up within the global NoPlaceLeft movement. Brandon spent 23 years in prison, where he was radically transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. While incarcerated, he earned a Bachelor's degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, co-authored three missionary training manuals, personally trained more than 5,000 inmates in the same curriculum we now teach worldwide, baptized over 1,200 new believers, and helped plant 350 churches across the Texas prison system.
What Brandon and his co-laborers built behind concrete and razor wire is now being deployed across the nations. The same curriculum that produced disciples in maximum-security units is being used by missionaries in Central and South America, Africa, and Asia. Our training curriculum is organized according to the Five Levels of Leadership. As you receive training, you are responsible to apply the lessons right where you are. With each lesson you apply, you gain real experience — sharing the gospel, making disciples, planting churches, and raising up leaders.
Each level takes three to five months to complete. Every level you finish earns you a certification that can be used to apply for college credit based on verifiable life experience. Graduates also become eligible for additional MissionaryAgents benefits, including admission to our Tentmaking Program and our Fundraising Program.
